Do you understand the internal structure of the bearing?

1.Dismantling

First of all, we must first remove the dust cover of the bearing.

Just like this, after removing the dust cover, we flip the bearing and start from the back.

Use a needle or a thin hard object to lift the cage (you can use a hard needle to top it from the front).

Now we get a cage and a bearing that is completely exposed. The next step is to put the steel balls together and remove the inner ring.

At this point, we completely dismantle the entire bearing!

2. Analysis

Outer ring

The part of the bearing that is in direct contact with the hub mainly serves as a support. Withstand most of the forces coming to the wheel.

Most of the wear occurs on the side of the outer side that is in contact with the hub. When subjected to excessive impact, it will deform or even break, which will affect the safety of use. (For example, bearings that are not specifically designed for FSK or limit skating are easy to reduce bearing life and accelerate bearing aging when used for the above activities)

Inner ring

The part directly in contact with the nail, together with the outer ring, constitutes the track of the bearing bead. In addition to its own quality problems, improper use will cause the inner ring to break. (For example, it is still used in high strength when there is no grease)

Cage

The cage plays an important role in the normal operation of the bearing.

A. Separate the steel balls to minimize friction and heat generation during work;

B. Keep the distance between the steel balls equal, so that the loads received are evenly distributed;

C. Guide the normal operation of the steel ball

In the case of normal installation of steel balls, it is like this

image

After we opened it, we got this

Nylon cage with six steel balls

Symmetrically distributed on the six vertices of the hexagon on the circumference, the load can be evenly distributed and withstand more loads than the seven-bead bearing! Implemented the "Less is MORE" idea!

Steel ball

Installed between the inner ring and the outer ring, it plays the role of rolling and transmitting force. The rolling element is a load-bearing part whose shape, size and number determine the bearing's ability to withstand loads and high-speed operation.

The 6 large ball bearings are used in the TWINCAM ILQ-9 series bearings to withstand higher loads and higher speeds. That is "Less is MORE"

In the case of high-intensity improper use, it is prone to "beading" (such as long-term high-intensity use in the absence of grease)

Dust cover

Dust cover must have seen a lot of people, generally the most dirty is also dust cover (such as the above picture)

Mainly to prevent grease from spilling and blocking foreign objects from entering the bearing. Don't underestimate it. Good dust cover is very good at dustproof, waterproof and anti-fouling.

Reminder: Regularly check the bearing condition to maintain the bearing, so that the bearing can be used in a harsh environment for a longer life.
