1) Cleaning
Before the rolling bearing is installed, it must be cleaned very cleanly to avoid the dust, metal chips being caught in the bearing and the ball, roller and raceway being worn out. The cleaning method is as follows: scrape off more grease or anti-rust grease on the bearing, immerse it in kerosene for initial washing, then clean it with clean kerosene, and finally clean it with clean gasoline. At the initial wash, it can be scrubbed with a brush or a cloth, and the bearing can be slap on the wooden board to make the oil inside the bearing vibrate. When cleaning the self-aligning bearing, do not easily disassemble the ball, roller, etc., so as to avoid the looseness or damage of the cage, or the ball or roller. Do not scrub with a yarn back to prevent the lint from being caught in the bearing. Do not rotate the outer ring of the bearing quickly during initial washing to avoid the inclusion of debris in the bearing and damage the ball or the like.
2) Inspection
When cleaning the bearing, check whether the inner and outer rings have rust spots, wear marks, whether the balls or rollers are pitting, discoloration, whether the cage is twisted or cracked. The rust spots on the rolling friction parts can be scrubbed with chrome oxide and engine oil; or the chrome oxide powder or ointment blended with mineral oil coated with cowhide or felt can not be rubbed with abrasive cloth or other rough articles. The rust spots in the non-scratch area can be rubbed with fine sand cloth and mineral oil. Wear marks, pitting, etc. should be exchanged beyond the limit. After the bearing is cleaned, hold the inner ring with one hand and push the outer ring with the other hand to make it idling quickly. For normal bearings, the idling should be smooth, brisk, flexible, no noise, and the inertia rotation time is longer. If the gap between the inner and outer rings is too large, the cage will sway from side to side during the rotation, and the slap sound will be emitted, and the inertia rotation time is not long. If the clearance is too small, the bearing rotation is not flexible or can't move.
After the bearing has passed the inspection, wrap it in a clean cloth. If it needs to be stored, the bearing should be immersed in the oil.
